Embedded Linux Software Engineer

arcutronix is a fast growing company developing solutions for diverse protocols, transmission methods (IP, Ethernet, TDM, SDH, SHDSL, VDSL2, fibre optics and copper lines) and modern Multiservice Demarcation Devices for LAN/WAN. For the expansion of our R&D team we are looking for a software-engineer / MS. Your task is the design / improvement of Linux kernel-SW and User-SW to control our network systems. We are offering a permanent job in Hannover / Germany.

Your Tasks:

  • Software-development close to our hardware. 
  • Design, code, validate and support Linux applications, kernel modules and communications protocols in an embedded Linux environment.
  • Analyse and debug kernel and application level software and interactions between hard- and software.
  • Be involved in all phases of software development life cycle including design, implementation, unit testing, debugging and maintenance.

Your Skills:

  • Expert in C/C++ and the GNU toolchain, including gcc and make.
  • 2+ years of experience as an embedded software engineer or comparable experience in open source projects.
  • (Embedded) Linux know-how.
  • Imaginative, motivated, and able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong logical and creative problem-solving skills, good oral and written communication skills, and excellent analytical skills.
  • Well versed in German and English language.
  • Master of Science (M.Sc.) or Master of Engineering (M.Eng.).

Preferable additional Qualification:

  • Experience in Linux Kernel driver (Kernel 2.6, 3.x).
